Casa Navàs Reus
Casa Navàs is one of the most important Modernist buildings in Europe and a jewel of Reus. It was designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner and built between 1901 and 1908 for Joaquim Navàs, a textile merchant, and his wife Pepa Blasco. Located in Plaça del Mercadal, it is notable for its elegant façade and its perfectly preserved interior, just as it was when it opened.
Entering Casa Navàs is like stepping into a vast stone garden, adorned with stained glass, ceramics, paintings, original furniture, silk fabrics, and lamps crafted by the finest artisans of the Modernista movement. Although the tower on the façade was damaged in 1938 during the Spanish Civil War, the interior remains spectacular.
Visiting it offers a glimpse into the life of Reus's bourgeoisie, the luxury of Catalan Modernism, and the mastery of Domènech i Montaner. Today, guided tours are available, allowing you to appreciate every artistic and architectural detail.
