Bellver de Cerdanya, in the heart of the Pyrenees, is a perfect destination to enjoy with the family at any time of the year. This charming town combines history and nature, surrounded by the impressive Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. Its old town, Romanesque churches such as Santa Maria de Talló and the many hiking routes that start here make Bellver the perfect place to explore Cerdanya.

In addition, its location allows you to enjoy all kinds of activities: excursions, adventure sports and even caving. If you are looking for a getaway full of nature and culture, Bellver de Cerdanya is the ideal place. Below, we show you some of the best excursions to make the most of your visit.

Anes Cave

If you are looking for a unique experience in nature, the Anes Cave is a must-see on your visit to Bellver de Cerdanya. Located between Bellver and Prullans, it is a great option for those who enjoy caving or simply want to experience an adventure in nature.

The Anes Cave is 335 metres long and has a minimal gradient, making it an ideal choice for beginners in caving. Although the terrain is slippery due to the mud and polished stones, the ceilings are high. However, at some points you will have to bend down to get through. The visit to the cave can last about 40 minutes, depending on your pace.

The cave is free to enter and is open to the public, but there are some important aspects to keep in mind in order to enjoy the experience safely:

Bring flashlights

There is no lighting inside, so it is essential that you carry flashlights, preferably headlamps, to keep your hands free.

Ropa cómoda para la excursión a Cueva de Anes
Appropriate clothing

The terrain is slippery, so we recommend that you bring comfortable clothes and a change of clothes in case you get wet or slip.

Cuidado con los niños en la excursión a Cueva de Anes
Beware of children

Although it is an amazing cave, it is not recommended for small children or people with reduced mobility due to the slippery slope.

Once inside, you will be amazed by the impressive formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The end of the path is marked by a rope that prevents you from entering a well. From here, all you have to do is retrace your steps and return to the entrance.

The Anes Cave is a true geological treasure, so it is important to explore it carefully and avoid causing any impact on its ecosystem.

It is a unique experience that will allow you to connect with nature and discover the hidden beauty of the Cerdanya mountains. Don't miss it!

How to get to the Anes Cave

To get to the cave, you will need to take the N-260 road towards La Seu d'Urgell from Bellver de Cerdanya. As you continue, you will see a dirt road on the left and a sign indicating the direction to the cave. This is a longer option, but easy to follow. The other alternative is a path marked with yellow markings, which is somewhat shorter but has stony and steep terrain.

The Basses of Gallissà

Les Basses de Gallissà is an ideal place to enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Located near the Segre River, just a few kilometres from Bellver de Cerdanya, this natural spot is perfect for a family day out.

This space is part of the Ribera del Alt Segre Partial Nature Reserve and is made up of three ponds: Tirons, Encantades and Estancades. It was opened in 2002 as a project to recover the area and create a new home for the local aquatic fauna, especially the otter, which is the main protagonist of this environment.

The route through Les Basses de Gallissà is easy and has two marked routes: one of 700 metres and another of 1.5 km, perfect for a leisurely walk. Both paths are accessible for wheelchairs, and the longest one will not take more than an hour, ideal for going with children. During the walk, you can enjoy the Cerdà riverside forest and see the typical vegetation of the area. In addition, you will have the opportunity to observe birds such as storks and, if you are lucky, you may even see otters in their natural habitat.

Nutria excursión en Bellver de Cerdanya

One of the most interesting parts of the route is the Bassa de les Encantades, famous for the legend of the fairies who, it is said, appear on the shore while hanging out the laundry. And if you are lucky and manage to get a sheet from them, good luck will always be with you!

Les Basses de Gallissà is a perfect excursion for everyone.

How to get to Les Basses de Gallissà

Getting there is very easy. From Bellver, continue towards the village of Pi and take a detour to the right that will take you to the end of the path. If you prefer to walk, the route from Bellver to the car park is about 800 metres. In the car park you will find a picnic area with tables, ideal for stopping and enjoying the scenery.

Salt Mill Gorge

If you are looking for an easy but very beautiful excursion, the Gorg del Molí del Salt is an excellent option. This walk runs parallel to a stream surrounded by vegetation, making it ideal for enjoying a cool and quiet day. The route will take you to the Salt del Molí pool, a green and shady spot, perfect for relaxing and admiring the beauty of the place.

Once you reach the waterfall, you can cross a wooden bridge that goes over the stream and climb up the mountain a little to get closer to the beginning of the waterfall. Although it is an incredible experience, it is important to always be close to children, as the ground can be slippery.

The route is very simple and does not present any difficulty. It is ideal to do it with the whole family and enjoy nature.

How to get to the Molí del Salt waterfall

To get there, take the N-260 and leave Bellver in the direction of Prullans. Cross the village and follow the road to Ardòvol. The road will take you to a bridge that crosses the stream, where you can park your car. From there, the route begins.

This is a short route, about 3 and a half kilometres, round trip, which can be done without problems with small children. Although at the beginning the path is a forest track, you will find a path on the right that will take you directly to the waterfall. The view of the waterfall and the landscape of the Vall de la Llosa is really impressive.
